The Effect of Surgeons’ Experience on the Accuracy of Implant Position: an in vitro study
نویسنده
چکیده
The research evaluated the role of experience on the accuracy of dental implant placement in a stimulated clinical setting without the use of surgical guides with the conventional free-hand method. With a sample of 15 surgeons at three different levels of experience, three parameters were tested (mediodistal, orofacial and coronoapical position of the dental implants). A detailed examination was conducted with the data collected from the surgeons, on which clinical significance test was performed. It was found that a there is a clear clinical significance reflecting where the experienced dentist differs from the intermediate dentist and finally the beginner level. It was identified that the effect of the surgeon’s experience especially in some very important parameters such as the mesiodistal position, buccolingual position and the implant’s angulation were found to affect the long term success of the implant.

Evaluation of the Effect of Zirconia and Titanium Abutments on Microleakage of Implant-Abutment Interface Under Oblique Cyclic Loading In Vitro
Background and Aim: Oral bacteria can proliferate in the implant-abutment interface (IAI) and cause inflammation in the peri-implant tissues and adjacent bone. This study aimed to assess the effect of zirconia and titanium abutments on the microleakage of the IAI under oblique cyclic loading conditions. Materials and Methods: In this in-vitro study, 12 implant-abutment assemblies with zirconia...

Background and Aim: The mismatch of the implant-abutment connection can produce instant stress and microleakage which result in mechanical and biological complications. This study aimed to investigate the influence of GapSeal® as a sealing material on the extent of microgap and microleakage at the external hexagon implant platform following cyclic loading. Materials and Methods: Sixteen implan...

متن کاملImplants modified with polymeric nanofibers coating containing the antibiotic vancomycin
Objective(S): Implant-related infections are disastrous complications in the clinic. One recent strategy to reduce the rate of infection is using the bioactive coating with an antibiotic. The purpose of these bioactive surfaces is to prevent bacterial adhesion to the implant and, consequently, the development of biofilm. In this study, vancomycin-loaded polymeric coating on imp...
